Sheriff Michael K. Neal

Michael Kent Neal is currently on his 12th year as the Sheriff of Monroe County and 28th year in law enforcement. Sheriff Neal is a former Corporal for Arkansas Game & Fish and was assigned to Lee County.

Michael began his career in law enforcement in 1998 as a part time officer for the Monroe County Sheriff's Department working his way up serving 9 years as a deputy. Michael also served 10 1/2 years with the Brinkley Fire and Rescue as Instructor and retiring in 2009 in the rank of Captain.

On October 7th 2007, Michael was hired by the Arkansas Game And Fish Commission and served 7 years as a wildlife officer.

On May 20, 2010 Officer Neal was instrumental in ending a brutal gun battle in West Memphis that resulted in the death of two West Memphis police officers and the wounding of the Crittenden County Sheriff and his Chief Deputy.

Sheriff Neal has received numerous different awards from the May 20th shooting which included: 3 Medals of Valor, Co-recipient of the 2011 International officer of the year. On February 20, 2012 Officer Neal was awarded the Congressional Medal of Valor from the President of the United States. In 2018, Sheriff Neal’s truck, rifle and uniform were inducted in to the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington DC where they will be on permanent display.

 

Mike Alford "Alf"

Mike Alford is a veteran of 32 years in law enforcement. Of those 32 years, Mike has spent 29 of them in narcotics as a task force officer in Southeast Missouri and St. Louis, Missouri.

Mike is currently a task force officer with the United States Marshals service, Violent Crime Fugitive apprehension unit. 

Mike's also a past President of the Missouri Narcotics Officer Association and is currently the Executive Director of the Missouri Narcotic Officer Association. 

Mike's a member of the Midwest Cycle Investigator Organization. He's also a DEA certified methamphetamine lab investigator.

On July 19, 2018, the U.S Marshals Task Force was attempting to take a fugitive into custody in an apartment complex in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. During the attempted arrest a gun battle between the suspect and Marshal's occurred. A Poplar Bluff officer was shot by the suspect and while returning fire Mike took a round center mass to the vest. The vest stopped the round saving Mike's life and after a one-hour negotiation over the phone the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.
